What We Ask in Every RTLS Discovery Call

When someone comes to us about an RTLS project, the first question we ask usually isn’t about hardware, protocols, or precision levels.

It’s: “What problem are you trying to solve?”

We’ve seen a lot of RTLS projects stall before they even get off the ground. Not because the technology wasn’t good—but because it was the wrong starting point. One team we recently spoke to had explored RTLS years ago, but the solution on the table was so overbuilt (and overpriced) that it never moved forward. And yet—years later—they’re still hearing from clients who want location data. The demand never went away. The solution just didn’t fit.

That’s why our discovery process is built around asking better questions. Not just “what tech do you want,” but:

  • What’s the actual use case?
  • What kind of environment are we working in?
  • Who’s going to use this every day—and how?
  • What does a win look like in the first 90 days?
  • What’s something people spend a lot of time on every day—yet are always looking for ways to save the time?

We’re listening for the kind of details that don’t show up on a spec sheet.

Sometimes that leads us to design a full UWB Mesh system. Other times, it’s BLE AoA or even LoRaWAN—because what you really need is something simple, rugged, and long-lasting. We don’t treat RTLS like a one-size-fits-all product. It’s a toolkit. Our job is to help you figure out which parts actually matter.

The best solutions are usually the ones that don’t overreach. No wires snaking through the floor. No dashboards no one opens. Just clear, reliable location data that works with what you already have.

That’s what we aim for in every call: clarity before complexity. A real conversation. A smart starting point.

If you’re circling RTLS again—or finally ready to make a move—we’re always happy to talk.
